Volunteer For Helping Us with the Eruv
Every week, we have to check all ten miles of the eruv and fix any issues found. This takes over a dozen checkers to roam through three towns examining all the wires, checking each and ever lechi, and making sure that the entire Eruv perimeter is up. One down wire will mean the entire eruv is down.
We need both people willing to check the eruv and backup checkers who will step in when one of the regular checkers cannot make it. Checking the portion of the eruv assigned to you takes about 20 to 40 minutes to do, and may be done from Wednesday to mornings on Friday. You’ll be trained to how to spot and examine the lechis, how to check the wire, and how to report problems you find.
And you will be paid with the respect and thanks of the thousands of people who use our eruv. We are proud of our ability to maintain our eruv. The eruv has not been down since 2016 thanks to the dedicated volunteers who help us keep our eruv up and running.
